With approximately 530,000 inhabitants, Dublin is the biggest urban center of Ireland and at the same time the capital of the insular state. The city has developed greatly during the past two decades and has risen from a brewery metropolis to an economic center, in which the European headquarters of Google, Microsoft and Facebook are located. In addition, the banking sector is of high importance to Dublin. The city is world-famous for its vibrant pub scene; especially the pubs of Temple Bar are popular with both inhabitants and tourists. The city is internationally connected via the airport in Dublin’s north.
