Fairs and congresses in Boston, Vereinigte Staaten

Boston is one of the most famous and attractive cities in New England and the US. You might say that in order to get to know America, you have to visit Boston. The city is fascinating in many ways. It has always been a place where different cultures merged. The first immigrants were puritan Britons followed by Irishmen, Poles, Russians and Germans. They all more or less stuck to their traditions and cultures, and assimilated somehow slower than elsewhere in the US. Boston is definitely one of the most “European” cities found on the continent. Traditionally, the Irish have had the most profound impact on the city’s traditions. St. Patrick’s Day is a huge party here, on which the shamrock rules the entire city. With its 32 universities, the city is a young center of education. One of the most reputable universities of the US is Harvard in Cambridge, a suburb of Boston. Moreover, the research findings of the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) are valued worldwide. The Logan International Airport is the largest airport in New England. The well-developed city train and subway networks and the numerous bus lines allow for easy exploration of the city and its surrounding region. Furthermore, Washington D.C. and New York are within easy reach by railway.
